Seeing Time on Market in MLS Customer Reports

I asked the question:  “My customers have asked me why they can’t see time on market or list date in any of their reports. What is the rationale behind hiding that from them?”

Here is the response I got from the Minneasota MLS:

When the Board of Governors voted to add Cumulative Days On Market to NorthstarMLS, they approved it for the Property/Agent Reports only, not the Customer Reports. Because of the decision to withhold CDOM from the Customer Reports, they also voted to remove the regular Days On Market from Customer Reports. The concern is that by giving customers only the Days on Market for the current listing and withholding the cumulative, it could be perceived as misleading. At this time, we are leaving it to the Selling Agent’s discretion to inform their clients about DOM and CDOM.
